Hard Livings Documentary Film Posters - Illustration

I was asked, by director Jason Staggie, to do a series of illustrations that would feature in his documentary film, Hard Livings, as well as the films poster artwork.

Jessy's Waffles - Logo

Jessy's Waffles is a gourmet sweet and savory waffles company based in Woodstock, Cape Town.

I was approached by Jessy who wanted me to create a unique logo for her company. Her idea was to have a waffle stain that looks like a hashtag (#) and decorate it with the name of her company and decorative toppings. The stain was created using a paintbrush and black coffee and then later edited slightly. The decorations were illustrated.

It was a lot of fun designing this logo and the end result turned out to be very eye catching.

Session Skateboarding Magazine - Publication Assignment

This was a publication project assigned to me in my third year of graphic design at CPUT. The brief was to select an existing magazine of our own choice, write an article, take our own photographs for the article and do the layout for the cover and four double page spreads. I chose Session Skateboarding Magazine because I grew up skateboarding with many of my closest friends. All of the photographs are of them.

Abderoof Attorney at Law - Corporate Identity

I was asked by the client to create an identity for his law firm. He liked the idea of having a set of scales as the logo, as it's the most recognizable symbol for Law. After some research, it was very clear that the scales symbol was overused in the world of law, so I focused on personalising the logo and incorporated his initials, A.A in the design of the scales.

The client then had a signet ring made with the design of the logo on it.

The Caring Family - Corporate Identity

The Caring Family empowers family carers to take care of themselves and their terminally ill loved ones.

The logo symbolizes care, love and security. The image represents three people. The two above represent support from either side. One being "family" and the other the NPO, both holding the third person with their arms. The person at the bottom represents the terminally ill loved one, who is holding the other two with his/her arms up. Having the arms up symbolizes "hope". All three people are linked together forming a heart to symbolize "love".

Squirrels Leap Play School - Logo & Flyer

The Play School in Cape Town is housed in a 1930's Victorian house with high ceilings and wooden floors. The feel is organic and only wooden toys are used.

Using this information I tried to create a sophisticated and somewhat prestigious looking logo.

I did the outline in pencil and then left it for a few months and now finally decided to fill it with colour. My first time doing an illustration using coloured pencils. What do you think?

Eco Halal - Logo

Eco Halal is a dedicated search engine for travel and tourism featuring halal products, finding accommodation, restaurants, tour operators and travel services for Muslim travellers in and out of SA.

I decided to create a modern look for this logo as it is for a search engine and therefore involves using technology. I took the abbreviation of the name and created what is supposed to look like a mosques dome roof top and tower.

Go Swim is an online and retail store based in Cape Town. They specialise in swimming equipment.

Lab 2 Market - Logo

The Lab 2 Market course is directed at post-graduate participants from the science, engineering and technology departments who have an interest in the commercialisation of technology/science-based research outputs or are interested in technology-based business venture creation.

The logos I created is a mix of vials with chemicals to represent "lab" and graphs to represent "market".

Upward Spiral is a spiritual group based in Cape Town.

Custom Outsource Solutions - Logo

Custom Outsource Solutions is an inbound and outbound call center. They wanted the logo to resemble chain links to symbolize the strong connection the company has with their clients.

Next Level - Branding and Packaging + Promotional Poster

This was a communication design project I did in my third year at Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town. The aim was to create a new product for a niche market, create a brand for the product and design the packaging for it. The niche market I chose was video gamers and the product I created was snacks which consists of potato chips, pretzels and peanuts. The packaging allows video gamers to enjoy the snacks without getting their hands and controllers greasy.

The illustration poster was to promote the product.
